3 Mercian T Shirt Appeal

Yes Sir...

Great to hear from Nikita this morning requesting my support!

I'll be delighted to help promote the appeal in any way I can and Andrew is pleased to do the photoshoot and provide the pictures for you!

Well done for taking the plunge and asking :-)

"Paul and Debbie are very proud parents of a serving soldier who left for Afghanistan in January 2011. They decided to sell a few T-shirts to some of the locals in their club for 3 Mercian making money for our serving men and women out there. Word soon got around of the good charitable work there doing making no money from this brilliant cause, even 3 Mercian got to hear about this, who decided t...o drop their planned T-shirt campaign and gave Paul and Debbie full backing to theres. After some discussions an agreement was made as to the wording and giving them permission to use the Mercian Eagle"

I'll look forward to a fun filled photoshoot as driving tanks is a little different to driving the Rolls and the guns on them there tanks are a litle bit bigger than the one behind my radiator!

Nikita!!!  You did say I could drive didn't you???

Meanwhile I'd best go find that tin of Blanco...

While you show your support...

Its going off to the publishers tomorrow and should be delivered near you soon.

"These truly tactile portraits can be displayed in an elegant deep box frame or created as free standing ornamental shelf items.  Unlike traditional photographic portraits that fade over a period of time, these stunning works of art will last you and your family for forever!"

Macmillan Support in Cognito?

All in a Good Cause...

Lady Ann has put me in a Spin a time or two...

She can be so cheeky at times.

So, I introduced her to my friend Doctor Regan...

You can see by the look on her face she was looking forward to what was coming her way...

"Don't worry" he said "It's only a little prick!"

I  'Ave to say though.  She put on a fantastic night!

Heveryone was kept Hentertained with some popular music tracks from young Master G and her hubby Lord Brian

Raising over £1000 she did herself and the dancing world proud as jivers from all over the midlands were in attendance

In Lady Ann's own words

"Wow! wot a party!! Huge thx to everyone that made the night such a great success!Thx for the wonderful and somewhat imaginative outfits you wore! Many thanks to Brian (sound) Nick (music) and for Ian and Gerry for lending me the tablecloths, etc. Between us we raised £1,034.12 for Macmillan nurses!!!!! I am so proud to have such caring, giving, generous and fantastic dancers as my friends. Well done to you all!!!!x"

When Lady Karen arrived she told me she was in Cognito!

Its quite delicate when you have to tell your employers friend that she is wrong!

M'Lady I said "  I think your sat nav has failed you cos you is in Willington

When I caught up with Lady Norma who arrived in a sexy nurses uniform I joked " 'Ave you come to give me a bed bath?" and she told me "No Parker!  I've come as the nit Nurse"

Next thing ya knows and there she is dancing with the Gyno mac ologi wosit Lord Tom

My Mates were delayed! They came across a lady in a dress

Distress 'O' course

Please show your support for Lady Ann and make a donation direct to Macmillan Cancer Support

Thanks to Clive at (Altered Images) and the friends of Lady Ann for the use of their pictures

Apprentice Reaching for “The Rainbow Ring!!!”

“Is there room for an old apprentice in This Land of Milk and Honey”

Would you like to live in a world where pleasure is the way of life?
A world full of beauty and vitality of youth?
A world where Everything is perfect?

A land in which you may have...

Free Sex!  -  Free Drugs!  -  Free Rock and Roll!

Your own apartment!  -  Free medical attention!  -  Plentiful food!  -  Fresh water and heating!
Communication and entertainment!  -  A personal transport system at your beck and call!
Work will be plentiful and rewarding for the community via a pleasurable job that suits your skills for just a few hours per day!

In this land of promises, there will be no need for money as everything you ever need will be provided as and when required.

However!!!

To live here; there is one small price that must be paid!

You must ride the giant Carousel in an effort to reach “The Rainbow Ring!!!”

In a man-made city of the 23rd century, humans live in a world without crime, hunger, or strife. The only problem is that no one is allowed to live past the age of 30 (population control). Concerned about his future, almost-30-year-old Logan (Michael York) escapes the city and is joined by Jessica (Jenny Agutter). Although Logan's former partner Francis (Richard Jordan) is on their trail, determined to catch Logan and end his rebellion, Logan and Jessica clear their city and enter the outside world where adventure and dangers await. This Academy Award winner for Best Visual Effects gets high marks in that realm

In this world we live in, I've heard there is also the promise of a rainbow ring...

If you work hard and use entrepreneurial skills you will and can achieve.  However, successive governments over decades seem to be determined to make it unachievable as they consistently give you a penny only to take a pound.

Just as in the film!  If you do not reach the rainbow ring and do not achieve your aims then the carousel will take you away!  In this case, not to your death but to the scrapheap of life where the young will consider you worthless because you are over the hill at 30.  A place where no one wants to employ you because they think you still do your drawings on the wall of a cave and you do your counting in your head!

In a time right now when it seems we are paying off our forebears debts, we are also paying for the debts of the future in order to protect the young! Are we doing ourselves an injustice?  What are we doing to help ourselves?

It seems to me we are allowing these young career politicians to run our lives when they have no time served experience of it themselves other that what they have read in the university libraries!

Just a few interesting Quotes...

"Everything you want in life has a price connected to it. There's a price to pay if you want to make things better, a price to pay just for leaving things as they are, a price for everything".

"The income tax has destroyed the concept of financial privacy. It has demolished the idea that a man's home is his castle. It has provided unlimited funding for politicians to wreck lives and property. It has forced one-earner families to become two-earner households -- leading to decreased parental supervision of children; loss of family values; and increased crime, promiscuity and drug use. So long as the government has the power to invade our lives, rummage through our records, and take what it wants from our income, we will have only as much freedom and take-home pay as the politicians condescend to let us have".

"But what could be more important than your happiness? It's said that an authoritarian moral code is necessary to protect society. But who is society? Isn't it just a large group of people, all of whom have differing ideas concerning how one should live? And if an individual is required to give up his own happiness, of what value is society to him?"

"So what is government?... Very simply, it is an agency of coercion. Of course, there are other agencies of coercion -- such as the Mafia. So to be more precise, government is the agency of coercion that has flags in front of its offices."

"You are where you are today because you have chosen to be there!!!"

Am I really Guv?   Is it time for us to start running?

PS:  Lord Sugar - It might be nice to see what the older generation could offer you :-)

Oh Sugar I don't want the Sack

Ooo Eck!  Lady P threatened me with the Sack if I don't buck me ideas up!

"Parker" she said "Do you want to keep your job?"

Anyways I thought I'd best take a look around at what was on offer!  You know just in case like!

I thought I might like to try being an apprentice at the sugar factory with that sweet feller but ee turned out to be one of Lady P friends 'im being a lord an all that!

Anyways I thought ee only employs kiddy winks as an apprentice and he might just tell Lady P I was lookin' for a move when really I quite likes me job I've got!

I did have a look around though, and I found this cracking opportunity of a job drivin' a lorry!  Not only was it a lorry but it was a 'gulley sucker' too and it had even got brushes on the side and underneath.

Now I once said to my last boss if you stick a brush up me Hariss I'll sweep the motorway for you on the way and that's just 'ow I lost that job in the first place but with this job I could do it Properly!

Anyway I applied for this job at DPSL but I got turned down!

Now before Lady P took me away from the life of crime, I got my convictions for a bit o this and that and spent some time at 'Er Majesty's pleasure but the one thing I  'Aven't got on my CV is "Professional Kerb Crawler" and that was wot they was lookin' for!

Anyway when I asked em at the Hinterview 'ow they got the name DPSL they said it was made up from their initals...

DPSL = Dave Putman Sandra Lewis or perhaps it could be Dodgy People Sweeping Leaves

'Ence it became DPSL Sweepers

In the end I thought that it was a good job I wasn't qualified, cos though it might have got me out of the s**t with Lady P!  I thinks there would have been a lot more of  it that I would have had to cope with!

Anyway I'd best not say much more cos Lady Sandra might drop it out to Lady P

You see she's started dancing classes where Lady P is the DJ and business partner with the teacher Lady N.

What Drives You to Blog, Post, Tweet or even Read?

So what is that makes you respond to them by adding a comment?
  1. Is it because you are inspired by what the writer has to say?
  2. Is it often a topic that irritates you or are you agitated by someone else who has posted a comment and you just have to have your say?
  3. Do you feel you are like a site policeman or sensor and feel its your duty to monitor the blogs for anything which is perceived to be negative or politically incorrect?
  4. Do you like to hear yourself in print?
  5. Do you like to dangle the fishing line and love winding people up as you bait them?
  6. Do you think it is your role to educate and guide people and therefore you just can't help putting a comment on a blog?
  7. Is it only ever your favourite writers blogs that you comment on?
  8. Do you look at a blog or a comment and think what a load of nonsense, this person is talking rubbish and it drives you to contribute to the blog?
  9. Are you one of these people who comments with the words 'awesome blog'?
  10. Are you too scared to post a comment on a blog written by a person who is very vocal?
  11. Do you fear your views maybe controversial and therefore hold back?
  12. Or are you one of those super speed surfing people who just can't be bothered and rarely gets past the first two lines in the first place, (Ooops you've probably already gone!) as you bounce along from one page to another without truly seeing what is laid out before you?
Without you the reader! A blog or a post is worthless! Without the knowledge that people are enjoying, reading, disagreeing, agreeing, etc there would be no point in its production, so, whatever your views; it is my opinion that you should express yourself!

Two thing I do know is there are lots of little gems out there that are well worth a read and discussion and, a good cover doesn't always make a good book!

So, if you are a regular poster you know what to do.  Feel free...

If this is new to you and you have not posted before?  Go on!  Have your say and enter a new dimension...

Why I am divorced...

A Tale of Woe from a friend of Lady P...

Last week was my Birthday. I awoke not feeling to well and went down to breakfast hoping that maybe I would get some kind words from my husband, or even a Happy birthday and a small present, but I didn’t get either. Well that’s marriage for you I thought.

My kids came down and I didn’t get a word from them either, so I went off to work that day feeling quite despondent.

When I arrived at the office my handsome boss put his head round the door and said "Good morning lady and a Happy Birthday to you" I felt much better after this, as at last someone had remembered.

At 1pm my boss came in and said "Come on it’s a beautiful day out there, how about we get some lunch, just you and me?"  "Thanks" I said, that was the best thing I'd heard all day.

We went to a quiet little bistro where we had a few drinks and a lovely meal. On the way back to the office my boss said, "we don’t have to hurry back you know".

I asked what he had in mind, to which he replied "we can drop in my place it’s just around the corner".

OK I said and off we went. We entered his apartment and I sat down on the couch.

He said "I just need to get something from the bedroom, make yourself comfortable" which I did.

A few minutes later he stepped out carrying a birthday cake!

He was followed by my husband, kids, and all my co-workers singing Happy Birthday, and I just sat there………

Naked!
Sometimes in life, not all is what it seems.  We move through life on a daily basis thinking everything is this way or that, when all along there is a 3rd dimension around us that can often throw us Huge surprises!
Sometimes good and sometimes not so good!

How do you handle or help a friend who's just got divorced?

M'lady says there are few things you shouldn't say to them!

Like...

  1. Are you sure?
  2. How long were you married? And upon finding out it was a relatively short period – Oh, well, at least it was short.
  3. I saw it coming all along.
  4. Who filed for divorce? Did you go to court? What did you get? Who has custody?
  5. But you were such a perfect couple!
  6. May you get remarried soon!
  7. Or the howler......  You should have kept your knickers on!
Now because M'lady has lots of that there Hetiquette she would...

  1. Let them lead. Recognize that some people want to talk and others do not. Respect their choice.
  2. Show empathy. Tell them you are sorry about their divorce.  Ask how they are doing.
  3. Offer your support and give encouragement. Simply saying, I’m here if there is anything you need, can go a long way.
  4. Keep silent. If you don’t know what to say, silence can be golden and acceptable.
  5. Be sensitive. They haven't become aliens overnight! Make them feel included despite their change in marital status.
  6. Understand their journey. Grief is a part of the healing process as people learn to adjust to life after separation.
These days you may encounter someone at any stage during their divorce process. By practicing sincerity and using common courtesy, we can be more mindful in our interactions with people as they undergo a time of reflection and change!

Need some help?
"It helped me to know that everybody goes through the same feelings and thoughts as I did."

"I am able to trust again and find peace of mind and personal fulfillment."

"Assuming responsibility for my own happiness was the high point for me. I have become more positive about the future."

Fancy That!!! for Macmillan Cancer Care

Now there's a Flap on!!!   Wot to wear?    Wot to wear?

Now I only know about this cos I had my ear to the keyhole wink! wink! but when Lady A came to tea yesterday she told Lady P to get all dressed up! Fancy Like!

You see!  Lady Ps friend is having a party...

Midsummer's Night Modern Jive Freestyle
June 24th at Willington power station

"Its my Birthday and I'm having a Bit of  a Do!" she was telling Lady P!  "and it's in aid of Macmillan Cancer Care so I hope you will be coming along for a dance or three!"

As you can see Lady A loves to dress up, as seen here at one of her previous parties with Lady S

A nice couple of La de Da's
I think she said  it was all a bit of an emergency but that might have just been the dress code she was talkin' about.

Any ways!  She said that she was going to be a head nurse!! Wot ever that means ???

Apparently there's going to be a police woman there, along with a fireman and several sexy nurses so if you'll excuse me I'm off to polish the roller once more.....

Do you think if I wrap up in a bandage or two I might get some extra attention from those lovely nurses or should I go get me a fireman's outfit and whisk one or two of them orf their feet?

I'm looking forward to this!

Lady A, will be raising money on the night for this fantastic cause but if you want to help please follow the link below direct to MacMillan Donations pages and show your support!  She would be delighted be know you have!

What is Love???

Captain Corelli's Mandolin:

"When you fall in love, it is a temporary madness. It erupts like an earthquake, and then it subsides. And when it subsides, you have to make a decision. You have to work out whether your roots are become so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part. Because this is what love is. Love is not breathlessness, it is not excitement, it is not the desire to mate every second of the day. It is not lying awake at night imagining that he is kissing every part of your body. No... don't blush. I am telling you some truths. For that is just being in love; which any of us can convince ourselves we are. Love itself is what is left over, when being in love has burned away"... (Iannis to Pelagia)

OR

As the Bible says

Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous;
Love does not brag and is not arrogant, does not act unbecomingly;
it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered,
does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth;
bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
Love never fails...But now faith, hope, love, abide these three; but the greatest of these is love.

1 Corinthians 13:4-7,13

OR
a Third Dimension

 "A Mother's Love"

A Mother's love is something that no on can explain,
It is made of deep devotion and of sacrifice and pain,
It is endless and unselfish and enduring come what may
For nothing can destroy it or take that love away . . .

Mum and Baby By Portrait Photographer Andrew Eldridge

It is patient and forgiving when all others are forsaking,
And it never fails or falters even though the heart is breaking . . .

It believes beyond believing when the world around condemns,
And it glows with all the beauty of the rarest, brightest gems . . .
It is far beyond defining, it defies all explanation,
And it still remains a secret like the mysteries of creation . . .

A many splendored miracle man cannot understand
And another wondrous evidence of God's tender guiding hand.

Whatever Love is!     It feels wonderful to both give and receive it!     Embrace it!
